Who Qualifies For The Bursary Or Student Loan From NSFAS?
The National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) has officially opened the 2025 application procedure.
Applications are now open and may shut on 15 December 2024.
*** Who qualifies for NSFAS funding
To qualify for NSFAS funding, an applicant should fulfill the following criteria:
• Be considered a South African citizen or copyright who emanates from a house using a combined gross family income that doesn't exceed R350 000 for every annum.
• Persons with disabilities qualify if their combined home cash flow won't exceed R600 000 per annum.
• SASSA recipients immediately qualify for funding and need not post any proof of income.
*** Loan Scheme for the Missing Middle
The NSFAS Loan Scheme for the missing middle is open to all South African citizens and permanent residents from households with combined R350 000 and R600 000 per annum.
Applicants are reminded to provide the correct Identity Doc numbers, names, and surname, as mirrored inside their South African ID.
NSFAS only funds people who are finding out or intend to study in a general public university or TVET college in South Africa.
All students who wish to study in any of the public universities and TVET colleges should apply timeously and not to wait until the last day.
Learners do not have to wait for matric results to apply for NSFAS. They should apply now nsfas status check and avoid delays in the processing of their application.
